Fedora 将成为第一个默认使用 Wayland 显示服务器的 Linux 发行版。Fedora 指导委员会在8月19日的会议上同意即将发布的 Fedora 25 将用 Wayland 取代 X.Org Server 作为默认显示管理器。如果不延期，Fedora 25 将于11月8日发布。

X.Org Server 将继续保留在系统中，以在需要的时候自动切换到X.Org，比如 NVIDIA 的Linux驱动还不完整支持 Wayland 。
